(In accordance with applicable GCC environmental and infrastructure regulations)
Introduction

In conducting its licensed and authorised activities, Al Shift is committed to preserving environmental quality, community wellbeing, and public amenity in accordance with applicable national laws, regulations, and permitting requirements within each GCC jurisdiction.
This statement outlines Al Shift’s approach to identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential impacts of its projects and operations on the environment, natural surroundings, heritage assets, and local communities.
Regulatory Requirements
Energy generation, transmission, and infrastructure activities within GCC countries are subject to national environmental laws, municipal planning regulations, and sector-specific licensing conditions. Al Shift ensures that all projects are developed and operated in compliance with applicable requirements, including environmental protection, land use planning, public safety, and cultural heritage preservation obligations.
Where required, approvals, permits, and consents are obtained from the relevant authorities prior to commencement of works.
Environmental and Social Assessment
Before developing any project, Al Shift undertakes appropriate environmental and social assessments in accordance with applicable laws and regulatory guidance. These assessments consider potential impacts on natural landscapes and visual amenity, flora and fauna, water resources and soil, built environment and community infrastructure, and cultural, archaeological, or heritage assets.
Mitigation measures are identified and implemented to minimise adverse impacts to the greatest extent reasonably practicable.
Minimising Impact of Infrastructure
Al Shift seeks to design, construct, and operate infrastructure in a manner that minimises disruption to communities and areas valued for environmental or cultural significance. Where activities may adversely affect amenity, works are planned and executed to reduce impacts through appropriate design choices, construction methods, scheduling, and restoration practices.
Audits and Compliance
Health, safety, environmental, and quality audits are carried out in accordance with Al Shift’s internal standards and applicable regulatory requirements. Compliance with permit conditions and regulatory obligations is maintained throughout the lifecycle of each project.
Training and Awareness
Al Shift promotes environmental and regulatory awareness among employees through appropriate training and internal communication. Contractors and suppliers engaged by Al Shift are also made aware of relevant regulatory, environmental, and community obligations.
